Star Trek Day
There is a "Day of ..." for virtually any conceivable useful or useless purpose, so why is there no special day for Star Trek? Agreed, for a real fan every day can be Star Trek Day, it needs nothing more than just some fellow Trekkers to discuss with, a video tape or a web access and you can be immersed in the Trek Universe. Anyway, the idea of a particular day to celebrate, promote and maybe honor Star Trek on sites throughout the web was brought up at the now defunct site Captain.net. Together with Dan of Star Trek Minutiae I was trying to revive the idea. Now Michael Angelo of MJ's Star Trek Portal has taken over the project.
Click the banner to be taken to MJ's Star Trek Day page and read more about the project there. Star Trek's "birthday" is September 8th,1966, when TOS was aired for the very first time. I think Star Trek Day is something our favorite sci-fi show (I hope so) deserves.
By the way, I have always celebrated September 8th, because it's my birthday :-)
