Borg

Cube variant 3

General description

The Borg cube is a huge and enormously powerful vessel with highly distributed systems.

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

The USS Protostar encounters a Borg cube that was disabled by a neurolytic pathogen in PRO: "Let Sleeping Borg Lie". The surface structure with the deep channels is like on the variant 3 that appeared in the first season of Star Trek Picard.

Sphere

General description

This sphere serves as a lifeboat for Borg cubes.
Gallery: Borg Starships

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

The cube in PRO: "Let Sleeping Borg Lie" is equipped with the same kind of sphere that was used as a lifeboat in "Star Trek: First Contact".

Denaxi

Cargo trolley

General description

The cargo trolley is a hover vehicle designed to haul cargo on planetary surfaces. Its engine can achieve surprisingly high speeds, especially with the help of the illegal fuel chlorine trifluoride.

Known vehicles

No name given

Annotations

The Protostar crew steals this vehicle in PRO: "Crossroads", not knowing that Okona is hiding himself and the chlorine trifluoride inside.

Class specifications

None available

Hover speeder

General description

The hover speeder is a planetary vehicle designed for high speeds. It is used by the law enforcement of the Denaxi Depot to pursue criminals.

Known vehicles

No name given

Annotations

Three of these vehicles pursue the stolen cargo trolley in PRO: "Crossroads".

Ferengi

D'Kora

General description

The Ferengi Marauder is a combination of a freighter and a warship. As the latter, it is nearly a match to a Federation Galaxy class.
Article: Appearances of the Ferengi Marauder
Gallery: Ferengi Starships

Known ships

Damsel

Annotations

  1. The Marauder named "Damsel" can be seen in PRO: "First Con-tact". Like apparently all ships of modern-day Trek, it is capable of entering an atmosphere and even hovering above the ground, despite its huge size. The Damsel is also peculiar because the ship, which needed a sizable crew at the time of TNG, is apparently operated by just one person, DaiMon Nandi. Furthermore, Nandi equipped it with a Klingon cloaking device that needs chimerium to operate.
  2. At least one D'Kora can be seen in the battle in "Supernova I".

Gorn

Trading vessel

General description

This Gorn ship is a design that may date back to the 23rd century when it was still used as a warship.
Gallery: Alpha and Beta Quadrant Ships, Part 1

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

  1. We can see the Gorn ship a few times, but always somewhere in the background, in PRO: "Supernova I". It is verbally identified as a "trading vessel" and not as a "warship", probably to justify why the Gorn would still operate ships that are well over 100 years old.
  2. The design was originally created as a warship for the remastered version of TOS: "Arena" in 2006, where it was hardly recognizable on screen at all. The design appeared unskinned in the TOS-R episode and received its surface details when it was released as part of the Official Starships Collection.

Kazon

Small ship

General description

The Kazon operate this ship type in the 2380's and use it to collect slaves (the "Unwanted") for the Diviner. It is equipped with a large aft hatch.

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

  1. We can see ships of this type when the Kazon slave trader arrives with the Caitian in PRO: "Lost and Found", briefly at the Denaxi Depot in PRO: "Crossroads" and when Jankom Pog and Zero are captured in PRO: "Preludes".
  2. This new design follows the lines of the Kazon ships established in Star Trek Voyager. It is larger than a shuttle and may have more than one deck but clearly smaller than a Kazon raider.
  3. In Star Trek Voyager, Kazon ships were established as outdated and slow. The Kazon of Prodigy and their ships, on the other hand, can be found everywhere in the Delta Quadrant.

Klingon

Bird-of-Prey

General description

The Bird-of-Prey is still a common light warship of the Klingon Empire in the 2380s.
Article: The Bird-of-Prey Size Paradox
Klingon Bird-of-Prey Gallery

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

  1. In PRO: "Terror Firma", the wreckage of a Klingon BoP can be seen on the "Murder Planet" deep in the Delta Quadrant, where no conventional starship could ever arrive on its own.
  2. Three Klingon BoPs are part of the Kobayashi Maru simulation in PRO: "Kobayashi". These ships have two additional rows of lights above the cloaking device bulge, which would drastically increase their size if they indicated decks. Since Klingon ships traditionally have only very few windows, the lights may be rather something else.
  3. A couple of Klingon BoPs arrive in PRO: "Supernova I" to defer the destruction of the Federation fleet by the Living Construct. These ships too have the extra lights in the bow section. The fact that they are very small compared to the other ships in the battle confirms that this is not a "scaled up variant" of the ship.

Coalition of Madena

Erstwhile type

General description

The Erstwhile belongs to a common type of cargo vessels.
Article: Redresses of the Batris
Article: The Antares Class(es)

Known ships

Erstwhile

Annotations

  1. In PRO: "Crossroads", Thadiun Okona still seems to own the very same ship Erstwhile as in TNG: "The Outrageous Okona", some 20 years earlier. The design looks identical.
  2. The engines are said to have been upgraded to Warp 4, apparently to explain why the ship, which used to run cargo just between neighboring planets in the TNG episode, is now encountered thousands of light years away in the Delta Quadrant. Still, at Warp 4, a one-way trip would have taken a lifetime, rather than 20 years.
  3. Originally intended to be some 290m long, Okona's ship already appeared to be somewhat smaller in TNG: "The Outrageous Okona". But it is scaled down in "Crossroads" to well under 100m.

Noble Isle

Space elevator

General description

As the atmosphere of Noble Isle is raged by ion storms, the space elevator is the only means of transportation to and from the surface. The orbital part has docking facilities for several starships.

Known structures

No name given

Annotations

The elevator can be seen in PRO: "Masquerade".

Petarian

Xhosa type

General description

This is a bulk freighter of Petarian registry.
Article: Redresses of the Batris
Article: The Antares Class(es)
Gallery: Alpha and Beta Quadrant Ships, Part 1

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

  1. This ship appears to support the Federation fleet in PRO: "Supernova I" and is verbally identified as "Petarian bulk freighter".
  2. The design is the same as Kasidy Yates's Xhosa, which was said to be a Petarian freighter likewise. In DS9, the ship appeared to be more brownish, whereas the Prodigy version is gray, just as the otherwise identical Norkova in DS9: "The Passenger".

Romulan

D'deridex

General description

The Warbird of the D'deridex class is a huge starship used by the Romulans in the 24th century. The ship is twice as long as a Federation Galaxy class, with an advantage in fire power, but a lower maximum speed. The power source is an artificial quantum singularity.
Article: Appearances of the Romulan Warbird
Gallery: Romulan Starships

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

Three Warbirds appear in PRO: "Crossroads" to intercept the USS Dauntless and prevent the Federation ship from entering the Neutral Zone. For some reason, in Prodigy it is no problem if Romulans violate the Neutral Zone...

Vau N'Akat

Class-D loader

General description

A Class-D loader is a type of hover truck used in the mining colony of Tars Lamora.

Known vehicles

No name given

Annotations

Dal steals this vehicle in PRO: "Lost and Found". It does not look like he could have had a plan how to escape from Tars Lamora, considering that the loader is obviously a planetbound vehicle.

Drednok

General description

A sentient robot of the Drednok type can serve as some sort of lifeboat and sustain a person in open space.

Known robots

No name given

Annotations

  1. The Vindicator aka Asencia escapes from the bridge of the USS Protostar by getting encased in her Drednok and breaking through the canopy in PRO: "Supernova I".
  2. Drednok initially seems to be the individual designation of the Diviner's robot but is used more like a generic name later in the series.

Class specifications

None available

Rev-12 type

General description

The Rev-12 is the huge starship of the Diviner, designed to achieve high warp speeds but also to be transformed into a planetary base such as on Tars Lamora. Over 50 years in the future, the Order, an organization of the Vau N'Akat, launched a hundred of these vessels into a wormhole leading to the past, each with one humanoid crew member and one Drednok. The mission is to search for the USS Protostar that Chakotay, a prisoner of the Vau N'Akat, had managed to send back to the past without a crew. The Order hopes to find the ship in the past and the Living Construct, a weapon designed for Federation starships to destroy each other.

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

  1. When the Tars Lamora colony first appears in PRO: "Lost and Found", it is not yet established that its central part can lift off and go to warp. This happens in PRO: "Starstruck". The Rev-12 returns to Tars Lamora after the Protostar is out of reach. Now in control of the Protostar crew, it lifts off again in "A Moral Star II" in pursuit of their ship that has been taken over by the Diviner. After recapturing the Protostar, the Rev-12 is left behind on Tars Lamora.
  2. I take it that the incredibly complicated folding mechanism of the ship was meant to look cool, rather than to make sense.

Unknown Affiliation

Shuttles at Denaxi Depot, visible in PRO: "Crossroads"

The affiliations of the shuttles besides the Erstwhile and the Kazon ship are unknown. Some more may rather belong to visitors than to the Denaxi Depot.

Shuttles in orbit of Noble Isle, visible in PRO: "Masquerade"

The affiliations of the shuttles are unknown. Some may rather belong to visitors than to Noble Isle. One may be a Romulan shuttle from where the Tal Shiar team was beamed down.

Addendum

"New Enda-Prize", starship mock-up built by the Enderprizians on Planet 0042692 as seen in PRO: "All the World's a Stage"

Curiously, the nacelles of the "New Enda-Prize" with their curved Bussard collector cowlings, the top cover of the warp coils and the very sloped aft end are exactly as on an Enterprise redesign by Gabe Koerner and not as those of the TOS ship.
