Meteor Class (2375)
Besides the U.S.S. Prometheus the U.S.S. Meteor is the second prototype of a multi-vector attack ship. If necessary, the ship splits into two parts either of which has full attack and defense potential (phasers, photon torpedoes, quantum torpedoes, multilayer shields) and a fully operational warp drive. The two parts operate independently also in coupled mode. The energy systems with one warp core and one fusion reactor each are usually separated. It will be decided in the near future, whether the production of the Meteor class or rather of the Prometheus will be continued.
