Ledosian

Buoy

General description

Many buoys like this mark flight lanes in the orbit of the Ledosian homeworld.

Known buoys

No name given

Annotations

Tom had to pass by these buoys during his flight training in VOY: "Natural Law". They don't seem to have any other purpose than shine bright.

Class specifications

None available

Patrol vessel

General description

Small ships like this one with decent armament patrol the vicinity of the Ledosian homeworld.
Article: Redresses of the Akritirian Patrol Ship
Gallery: Delta Quadrant Ships, Part 2

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

The Ledosian ship appeared in VOY: "Natural Law". It had wing-like rounded extensions bent forward, a closed rear section and a jagged bow. Closer examination reveals that this bow is actually a Lokirrim ship. When docked to the station the Ledosian vessel seemed to be plain gray (the actual color of the model), while during the flight it had a green hue. The Ledosian patrol ship looks like it is a bit bigger than the Delta Flyer.

Class specifications

None available

"Scaffold" vessel

General description

This ship with a characteristic framework around its main body is docked to the Ledosian station, but its origin and purpose is unknown.
Article: Redresses of the Karemma Ship
Gallery: Delta Quadrant Ships, Part 2

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

The ship is a redress of the Bajoran unknown ship 4 CGI, which in turn was derived from the Karemma ship. The scaffolding may not be a permanent part of the vessel.

Class specifications

None available

Space port

General description

This station orbits the Ledosian homeworld.

Known stations

No name given

Annotations

At least two of the large space ports appear in VOY: "Natural Law". It is the CGI model of the Markonian space station (see below), flipped over and with a couple of modifications.

Class specifications

None available

Various ships, seen at the Ledosian homeworld in VOY: "Natural Law"

All starships docked to the Ledosian space station are unchanged re-uses of previously seen CGI models. Except for the Ledosian patrol vessel listed above none of them has to be Ledosian, as the space stations may be trade centers. Some of them could be exactly what they look like, most obviously the Hirogen holoship. But overall they must be seen just as random generic starships.

Lokirrim

Patrol ship

General description

This ship is armed with a photonic disruptor to destroy holographic projections, but is inferior to a Starfleet Intrepid class.
Article: Redresses of the Akritirian Patrol Ship

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

These ships appear in VOY: "Body and Soul". The model is a re-use of the Akritirian patrol ship. Apparently the texture has been modified, and the Akritirian logo was removed. It also seems that the ship is now supposed to be smaller, since there are fewer windows on the Lokirrim version. Maybe these modifications are sufficient to make this a completely different design (which would be desirable considering the 30,000 light-years between the two civilizations).

Class specifications

Length: approx. 180m

Warship

General description

With the same basic design as the Lokirrim patrol ship, the warship is equipped with additional weapons, but still no match for a Starfleet Intrepid class.
Article: Redresses of the Akritirian Patrol Ship

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

These ships appear in VOY: "Body and Soul". The Star Trek Fact Files acknowledge that the warship is different from the patrol ship. Some more weapon and engine pods have been added, and there are wing extensions on port and starboard. The window rows are the same as on the patrol ship, so we ought to assume they are the same size.

Class specifications

Length: approx. 180m

Malon

Escape pod

General description

These small escape pods may be constructed for only one person.

Known shuttles

No name given

Annotations

These escape pods belong to a Malon freighter type 2 and were seen in VOY: "Juggernaut". There were 37 of them, probably the freighter's complete complement. At a crew size of typically less than a dozen, they are likely built for only one or at most two persons.

Class specifications

None available

Export vessel 11th gradient

General description

This is one of different types of garbage scows that are employed to carry away antimatter waste from the Malon homeworld. The ship is armed with cannons that fire antimatter charges.
Gallery: Delta Quadrant Ships, Part 2

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

As hinted at by Controller Emck in the episode VOY: "Night", it is thanks to the garbage industry's influence that precious antimatter is rather wasted than recycled on the Malon homeworld. A flaw is how carelessly large clouds of antimatter are vented from the ship, which is in strong contrast to the extreme (and much more realistic) danger of having only a few grams of it in a Federation starship's warp core at a time. The ship also appeared in "Extreme Risk".

Class specifications

Antimatter waste tanker
Length: approx. 515m
Crew complement: 9

Freighter type 2

General description

This is another type of Malon freighter with a higher capacity.

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

This ship type appeared in VOY: "Juggernaut". The basic spaceframe of the type 2 is apparently similar to the "export vessel 11th gradient", but the proportions are different. This tanker is supposed to be much larger, the size of the tanks being the same, rather than the superstructure. The final design of the vessel looks not quite as the preliminary sketch made by Rick Sternbach.

Class specifications

Antimatter waste tanker
Length: approx. 730m
Deck count: 42

Model ship

General description

This may be a model of an actual Malon vessel, possibly of their early space flight history.
Article: From the Bonaventure to the Phoenix

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

  1. The model appeared in VOY: "Juggernaut". It was once supposed to represent Zefram Cochrane's first warp ship in the Star Trek Chronology before a different design, the Phoenix, was developed for "First Contact". Only the nacelles are missing on the Malon version. The same model was previously visible on a desk in DS9: "Cardassians", then still in the orange-gray color scheme as it was depicted in the book too. The color of the Malon model is not entirely certain because the lighting inside the ship is green.
  2. Although science fiction like Star Trek may exist in the Malon civilization too, it is probably not a model of a fictional but of an authentic Malon starship. It may be well a vessel from the early days of Malon space travel with an accidental similarity to the human ship.

Class specifications

None available

Shuttle

General description

The Malon built a special shuttle with hull enforcements to retrieve Voyager's multispatial probe from the dense atmosphere of a gas giant.
Gallery: Delta Quadrant Ships, Part 2

Known shuttles

No name given

Annotations

This shuttle could be briefly seen in VOY: "Extreme Risk".

Class specifications

Markonian

Container ship

General description

Nothing is known about these vessels.

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

Several of these vessels appear at the Markonian outpost, two of them docked with the station. Their design with the saucer and its large windows in the rim looks almost like a part of the station, if it were not for the red engine at the rear end. It can be inferred that the design is of Markonian origin. In the original database of the production, it is a CG model separate from the station and labeled as "container ship". We can recognize the underslung containers on the screen caps too.

Class specifications

None available

Outpost

General description

This is a large space station that allows several starships to dock a time.
Gallery: Delta Quadrant Ships, Part 2

Known stations

No name given

Annotations

The brisk trade outpost is visited by aliens of many different species. It appears in VOY: "Survival Instinct".

Class specifications

Length: approx. 5km

Various ships, seen at the Markonian outpost in VOY: "Survival Instinct"

All other starships docked to the Markonian station are unchanged re-uses of previously seen CGI models. The unknown ship may be the Ramuran tracer ship. Some of the ships could be exactly what they look like, most obviously the designs of the Ord'Mirit and of Onquanii's vessel, although the latter appears to be much smaller here. The rest should be regarded rather as generic starships.

Mawasi

Cruiser

General description

Similar to the Zahl ships, the warp nacelles of Mawasi ships are connected to the main body with two pairs of pylons.
Gallery: The Krenim and Their Enemies

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

  1. The Mawasi cruiser appeared in VOY: "Year of Hell". The Mawasi were part of Janeway's coalition to defeat Annorax. A direct size comparison is possible, as one Mawasi cruiser crashes into the saucer of Voyager.
  2. The ship model was also visible near the Markonian station in VOY: "Survival Instinct", but it seems unlikely that this was another Mawasi vessel.

Class specifications

Length: approx. 245m

Mislen

Freighter

General description

The Mislen freighter is a relatively large boxy design.
Gallery: Delta Quadrant Ships, Part 1

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

A Mislen freighter fell victim to the "Swarm" ships in VOY: "The Swarm". It appears to be a new design.

Class specifications

None available

Monean

Starship/submarine

General description

Monean vessels may operate under the sea as well as in space. It is not known whether they are equipped with warp drive.
Gallery: Delta Quadrant Ships, Part 2

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

The vessels of the Monean Maritime Sovereignty appeared in VOY: "Thirty Days".

Class specifications

Nacene

Caretaker Array

General description

The Caretaker Array is a large space station built to provide the Ocampa planet with energy.

Known stations

No name given

Annotations

The Caretaker Array was encountered in VOY: "Caretaker". The station is huge, at least 22km across the narrow side when we compare it to the Kazon mothership. At this size, the part with the irregularly arranged tubes at the bottom alone would be as large as Earth Spacedock.

Class specifications

None available

Suspiria's Array

General description

Suspiria's Array is smaller than the Caretaker Array, but built using similar components.

Known stations

No name given

Annotations

Suspiria's Array was encountered in VOY: "Cold Fire". It was said to be considerably smaller than the Caretaker Array, but structural analysis shows that essentially only the diagonal wings were omitted and the vertical structures moved closer to the central core. Maybe this modification is extensive enough to claim that the single parts are smaller too.

Class specifications

Crew complement: approx. 2000

Nasari

Patrol ship

General description

The Nasari use this small type of patrol vessels with nacelles attached to wings. Three ships of this type pose a considerable threat to a Federation Intrepid class. But they are inferior to vessels of the Taresians.
Article: Redresses of the Romulan Scout

Known ships

Nerada

Annotations

The Nasari patrol ship in VOY: "Favorite Son" is a re-use of the Romulan science ship, only that the color is different and that the ship was flipped, now moving "backward". We have to ignore the similarity in-universe.

Class specifications

Patrol ship
Length: approx. 50m

Nezu

Orbital tether

General description

The orbital tether is 300km long and leads from the surface of the Nezu colony to a station in synchronous orbit. The cabin has a magnetic drive and moves up the tether with about 40km/h.

Known shuttles

"Alixia"

Annotations

The orbital tether was featured in VOY: "Rise". Neelix informally named the cabin for his late sister.

Class specifications

None available

Nihydron

Ship

General description

The Nihydron ships exhibit rounded, almost organic shapes. They are armed with particle weapons.
Gallery: The Krenim and Their Enemies

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

Nihydron ships appeared in VOY: "Year of Hell". The Nihydron were part of Janeway's coalition to defeat Annorax.

Class specifications

Length: approx. 310m

Norcadian

Tsunkatse ship

General description

The Tsunkatse ship serves as a mobile game arena and broadcasting center. It is equipped with a number of particle cannons and is well shielded with covariant shields.
Gallery: Delta Quadrant Ships, Part 2

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

The ship appeared in VOY: "Tsunkatse". It was operating in the Norcadian system and is listed as Norcadian ship in the Star Trek Fact Files. It is not entirely certain whether it is a Norcadian design, though. Its owner, Penk, and his guards obviously belong to a different race, since we know that Mezoti is Norcadian. Read about the Norcadian problem.

Class specifications

Mass: 5,000,000t

Numiri

Patrol ship

General description

This patrol ship with a triangular planform is outfitted with a beam weapon and a tractor beam emitter. There is a shuttlebay at its rear end.
Article: Redresses of the Husnock Ship

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

Numiri patrol ships appeared in VOY: "Ex Post Facto". The miniature is essentially the same as of the former Bajoran freighter 2 with the characteristic hammerhead. The color was modified from brownish to dark gray.

Class specifications

None available

Nuu'Bari

Freighter

General description

No facts on this freighter are available.
Article: Redresses of the Husnock Ship
Article: Analysis of the Antarian Transstellar Rally
Article: Analysis of the Ships in the "Void"
Gallery: Delta Quadrant Ships, Part 2

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

  1. The Nuu'Bari freighter from VOY: "Flesh and Blood" is a CG version of the strangely popular "hammerhead" freighter (which had previously appeared in the Delta Quadrant as Numiri patrol ship, still as a physical model). The proportions of the CGI may be different than those of the physical miniature, or it is just the usual inaccuracy of the 2D schematics in the Fact Files. The CG model was available because it had previously appeared as a Bajoran ship in DS9: "Shadows and Symbols".
  2. The CGI of the "hammerhead ship" first appeared on Voyager in VOY: "Drive". The two ships shown at the race site, only a few months before the encounter with the Nuu'Bari, could be easily of the same type as the Nuu'Bari freighter. The same goes for the ship of this type that was part of Janeway's Alliance in "The Void".

Class specifications

Crew complement: 2

Nygean

Prisoner transport

General description

This ship serves as a prisoner transport of the Nygean Detention Force.
Article: Redresses of the Reptohumanoid Ship

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

This Nygean ship appeared in VOY: "Repentance". The CGI is identical to the Reptohumanoid ship. Only the orientation is different, the Nygean vessel moves into the opposite direction. The Fact Files depiction of this vessel is incorrect because it actually shows the Dralian version.

Class specifications

None available

Ship

General description

Nothing is known about this ship type, except that it appears to be well-armed.
Article: Analysis of the Ships in the "Void"

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

Oddly, the Nygean vessel in VOY: "The Void" isn't the design that had been established in VOY: "Repentance", but is a re-use of the Hazari ship from VOY: "Think Tank". It seems very unlikely that the Nygeans would use exactly the same ships as the Hazari. Even if they had captured the vessel during their supposed long stay in the Void, it would be unlikely that it once belonged to the Hazari, thousands of light-years away. So it could be as well a second Nygean ship design.

Class specifications

None available

Shuttle

General description

Nothing is known about this small craft, except that it is equipped with a transporter.
Article: Redresses of Tau's Pirate Fighter

Known shuttles

No name given

Annotations

  1. The Benkarans are said to inhabit 10% of Nygean space, but occupy 80% of all space in Nygean prisons. I take it that the Benkarans have been subdued or slowly infiltrated by the Nygeans, so their ship, which attempted to rescue Iko in VOY: "Repentance", is listed here. Its actual origin remains unknown anyway.
  2. The shuttle is a modification of Kes's shuttle. The upper and lower engine pods have switched places, and the cockpit window in front was replaced with one row of smaller windows to suggest a larger size.

Class specifications

None available

Nyrian

Habitat ship

General description

The Nyrian habitat ship is a huge vessel with 94 different environments.

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

The Nyrian ship appeared in VOY: "Displaced". It was never seen from the outside in the episode, but its top and side views appeared on displays. There seem to be only 20 habitat pods altogether. Most likely there are five different environments in each of them.

Class specifications

None available

Ord'Mirit

Mining ship

General description

The Ord'Mirit mining ship is obviously an industrial vessel, either carrying ore or equipment for a mining colony.
Gallery: Delta Quadrant Ships, Part 2

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

  1. The Ord'Mirit mining ship was encountered by the Voyager clone in VOY: "Course: Oblivion". The CG model depicted in the Star Trek Fact Files is labeled "IANMAC 700" in Latin letters. Either this model was supposed to appear as a human-built ship at first, or it is some kind of in-joke (made by someone named Ian on a Mac?). Fortunately it was not legible on screen. I have removed the letters from the above side view.
  2. The same model may have appeared a second time at the Markonian station in VOY: "Survival Instinct".

Class specifications

Length: approx. 450m

Pralor

Ship

General description

The Pralor, or rather the automated units who killed their creators, are using this large combat vessel against the obviously identical type of the Cravic androids. The ship has the planform of a cross. Its weapon and defense systems are superior to those of Voyager.
Gallery: Delta Quadrant Ships, Part 1

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

The Pralor and Cravic designs appeared in VOY: "Prototype". The only difference between them as well as between the androids themselves lies in their colors (Pralor: silver, Cravic: gold). The origin of the technology is obviously the same and has not been further developed since the Pralor and Cravic were eliminated by their respective automated units. It is clear that there is supposed to be much symbolism in this symmetry, and it has to be taken with a grain of salt technology-wise.

Class specifications

Diameter: approx. 450m

Qomar

Orbital station

General description

This station is one of several large facilities orbiting the Qomar homeworld.
Gallery: Delta Quadrant Ships, Part 2

Known stations

No name given

Annotations

The station, like all other Qomar ships, was seen in VOY: "Virtuoso".

Class specifications

None available

Various Qomar ships, seen in the background in VOY: "Virtuoso"

Since there is nothing distinctive about these four ships save their looks (they are all new designs), they are not listed separately.

Quarra

Buoy

General description

The buoy probably serves as a demarcation of flight lanes.

Known probes

No name given

Annotations

Like all Quarra designs, the buoy appeared in VOY: "Workforce". The buoy may be a modification of the Starfleet radio beacon, with the upper and lower cap removed.

Class specifications

None available

Patrol ship

General description

This type of small, probably shuttle-sized ships can be encountered in the orbit of Quarra.

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

There were several small ships in orbit of Quarra, all of which seemed to be the design that had previously appeared as the Benthan coaxial warp prototype. Evidently they can't be related in-universe.

Class specifications

None available

Orbital station

General description

Several of these large space stations are orbiting the planet Quarra.

Known stations

No name given

Annotations

The orbital station is an unchanged re-use of the Ba'neth station (and clearly can't be the same design in-universe). Curiously, the Ba'neth station probably has the same origin as the much smaller buoy (above), namely the Starfleet radio beacon. Only that there is hardly any similarity after the modifications.

Class specifications

None available

Scavenger ship

General description

This type of small ships is equipped with a tractor beam and may be utilized to lay subspace mines.
Gallery: Delta Quadrant Ships, Part 2

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

The scavenger ship is a shameless re-use of parts of the quite prominent Breen ship, which were re-arranged in a now symmetrical fashion. The Quarra ship may be supposed to be considerably smaller too.

Class specifications

None available

Train system

General description

This is a ground transportation system on the planet Quarra.

Known vehicles

No name given

Annotations

The train is most likely hovering above the ground, much like its cousin in Paris, France.

Class specifications

None available

Rakosan

Fighter

General description

This type of fighter is outfitted with beam weapons, but only minimal shielding.

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

The Rakosan fighters were deployed in the unsuccessful attempt to destroy the Cardassian "Dreadnought" in VOY: "Dreadnought". The Rakosan vessels are of the same design as the Talaxian fighters type 1 that wouldn't show up until VOY: "Basics".

Class specifications

None available

Ramuran

Tracer ship

General description

This small cloakable ship type is used by Ramuran tracers. Their task is to pursue and capture Ramurans, who have decided to leave their xenophobic society. Tracer ships are equipped with proton-based particle beams that are so tightly focused that shields are useless.
Article: Redresses of the Ramuran Tracer Ship
Gallery: Delta Quadrant Ships, Part 1

Known ships

No name given

Annotations

A couple of tracer ships appeared in VOY: "Unforgettable". Compared to Voyager, they looked like they were well below 50m long. At one point of the episode, it was considered to tractor in Kellin's ship, although we may doubt it fits into the shuttlebay. The bridge set of the ship with the front windows did not perfectly match the nose section of the ship, but was quite obviously supposed to be located there.

Class specifications

Length: approx. 40m
